Mrs. Aileen Rogers Berry, 94, of Dalton passed away Friday January 7, 2011 at the home of her son.
She began work as an elementary teacher in Eton, GA. after graduating from Lincoln Memorial University. She worked with her husband to build Berry Concrete Products in Dalton and after her husband retired she worked in her sisters Neptha’s business, the Bon Ton Apparel Shop. She was a happy person, always smiling. A longtime member of the Dalton First Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Berry; sister, Neptha Rogers; brothers Herbert, Marvin and Patrick Rogers and their wife's respectively, Willie Frances Robinson, Loella Whittemore and Annie Davis; parents Benjamin and Viola Chastain Rogers. She is survived by her son, Thomas Rogers Berry and her daughter, Billie Berry Whitney (Eugene Whitney); sister and brother-in-law Lora Rogers Dickson and James Dickson; grandchildren, Melissa Gratias (Eric Gratias) and Melissa’s mother, Connie Berry, Christina Whitney (Bill Toomajian) and Paul Whitney; great-grandchildren Maddie and Will Gratias and Karen, Rebecca, Joe, Megan and Allison Whitney; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and several special friends.
Aileen Berry was not only an inspiration to all who met her, but her love for her extended family was unsurpassed.
Funeral services will be Saturday at Noon in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Katherine Cornell officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from
10 A.M. till the service at Noon.
