Mrs. Helen Mullinax, 90, of Dalton, passed away Friday March 30, 2007. Mrs. Mullinax was born in Youngstown, Ohio May 6, 1916 to William Spray and Roxie Painter Crook. Her mother and siblings moved back to Painter’s Gap, Georgia near Elijay in 1920. They then moved to North Dalton where they grew up and she met her husband Boyd Mullinax. They were married December 21, 1935.
Helen and Boyd operated a family owned business together, Dalton Cigar Co., from 1950 to their retirement in 1983.
She was preceded in death by her husband Boyd Mullinax, her baby sister, Nellie, her brothers, Carl “Ted” Crook, and Shirley “Bud” Crook.
She is survived by children and spouses, Pat and Jon Evans of Dalton, Larry and Eileen Mullinax of Cartersville, and Reggie and Linda Mullinax of Dalton. Grandchildren and spouses Monica and Jeff Morosky of Valencia, CA; Lorey and Marion Dill of Chattanooga, TN; Wes and Bonnie Mullinax of Cartersville, GA; Susan and Scott Patton of Signal Mtn., TN; Amy and Frank Rabb of Cartersville, GA; Jenni Henderson of Pompano Beach, FL; and Kimberly Henderson of Atlanta, Ga. Great grandchildren; Tyler Dill, Matthew Patton, Jordan Mullinax, Jonathan Patton, Cooper Mullinax, Adam Dill, Andrei Morosky, Emily Patton and expected great grandchild Oliver Rabb. Helen was lovingly called “BeaBea” by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday March 31, 2007 from 6pm to 8pm and Sunday from 12 noon to 1pm at Love Funeral Home of Dalton. The funeral services will be in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church of Dalton Sunday April 1, 2007 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the American Heart association or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
