William "Billy" Griggs

Mr. William “Billy” Griggs, 86, of Chatsworth, passed away Friday January 14, 2011 at his residence.
He was the son of the late William Robert and Margaret Draper Griggs and was preceded in death by his wife Frances Mae Davis Griggs; sister Marlene Ann Tate.
Billy was a retired veteran of the United States Navy as a Master Chief having served during WW II. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Christiana Griggs of Dalton; sister Ruby Griggs Laymon of Arlington VA; grandchildren Kristy Tate and Tyler Tate; two great-grandchildren; special niece Kathy Parker, other nieces and nephew also survived.
Services will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Daryl Ballew officiating..
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
