Ernest R. Poteet

Mr. Ernest R. Poteet, 80, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011 at his residence.
He was the son of the late, Lige and Nellie Poteet and was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Poteet in 2007.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; a member and deacon of the Dug Gap Baptist Church and taught men’s Sunday school class for over 35 years.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Martha Smith Poteet of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Cindy Poteet of Calhoun, GA.; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Brent Brown of Calhoun; sister, Hazel Metcalf of Dalton; grandchildren, Lance and Kelsey Poteet, Christy and Tyler Ann Herron, Haley, Spencer and Holly Grace Brown.; nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 P.M. at the Dug Gap Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Bagley and the Rev. Chris Conner officiating.
Burial will be in the Dug Gap Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to
8 P.M.
