Chelsea Bartenfeld

Mr. Chelsea Bartenfeld, 86, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his residence after an extended illness.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in W.W. II and was a member and long- time deacon and Boy Scout leader of the East Side Baptist Church.
Chelsea began his career at Cabin Crafts in 1939 in the order department. He later became their Bedspread Production Manage at the Morris plant, then he became Carpet Production Supervisor at the Springdale plant in April 1962. He was given additional responsibilities of Catoosa Mills in 1964 in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. and in 1965 Forrest Mills in Calhoun, Ga. In 1976 he was promoted to V. President of Manufacturing for the Carpet Rug division in Dalton and then in 1986 he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Manufacturing. He retired from West Point Pepperell after 50 years of service in 1989. He later became a consultant for Crosby Mills in Halifax Nova Scotia and Dye-Tech Chemical Company in Dalton.
Chelsea is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mildred Stanfield Bartenfeld of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, LeVone “Joe” and Charlotte Bartenfeld of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter, Emily Anne Bartenfeld of Augusta, Ga.; brothers, George Bartenfeld and Jerome Bartenfeld both of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Jack Nations of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Emily Stanfield Burch of Douglasville, Ga., Joann Cochran Clark of Cape Canaveral, Fl. and Irene Evans Bartenfeld of Dalton; brother-in-law, Russell Elder of Panama City Beach, Fl.; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Tuesday at 3 P.M. at the East Side Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brownlee officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to
8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the East Side Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 734, Dalton, Ga.30722-0734.
