Mr. W. C. “Bill” Parks, 75, of Dalton, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at his residence.
He was born in Whitfield County, son of the late, W. C. Parks, Sr. and Leila Bowen Parks.
Bill was a graduate of North Georgia College and served as 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he returned to Dalton to begin his real estate career as a pioneer in home building and developing. He was a long-time servant of the Fellowship Bible Church, where he was an elder, deacon and treasurer for many years.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ivy Deems Parks of Dalton; sons and daughter-in-law, Randy Parks, Philip and Lynda Parks all of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Raymond Neno of Savannah, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Jane Parks of Dalton, Gordon and Judy Parks of Statesboro and Larry Parks of Douglasville, GA.; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Herb O’Briant, Martha Hackney all of Dalton; grandchildren, Miki Parks, Kim Parks, Hannah Parks, Drew Parks and Rachel Neno; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 2:30 P.M. from the Fellowship Bible Church on Dug Gap Road with the Rev. Jim Burgess officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Fellowship Bible Church Friday from 12 to
2 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Fellowship Bible Church Building Fund, 2044 Dug Gap Road, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
