Mrs. Joy Emmett Duggan, 72, of Dalton and formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late, Lewis B. Emmett, Sr. and Bess Thompson Emmett and was preceded in death by her children, Keith Walter Duggan and Madre Allene Duggan; and brothers, Lewis Emmett, Jr. and Rush Emmett.
Joy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society. Joy loved to play golf and she was a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jack Duggan of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lucy Duggan of Chattanooga, TN.; daughters, Delinda Duggan of Knoxville, TN., Deborah Duggan Moates of Chattanooga and Lisha Duggan Wright of Dalton; grandchildren, Phillip Duggan, Mary Arden Wright and Henderson Holman Wright, Jr.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 P.M. from the First Baptist Church of Dalton with the Rev. Fate L. Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens on Shallowford Road in Chattanooga with Johnny Carter, Bill Holley, Dick Stagg, Dewey Hughes, Marvin Farrow and Bob Vickey serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the First Baptist Church on Monday from Noon to 1:30 P.M.
