Mr. Hoyt H. Copeland, 69, of Dalton, died suddenly Friday, April 20, 2007 at his residence.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Georgia State Patrol after 30 years.
He was the son of the late, Jesse J. and Lala Goodman Copeland and was preceded in death by his sister, jewell Rate; brothers, Dewey Copeland, Jesse J. Copeland, Jr. and his mother-in-law, Julia Hope Wood.
Hoyt is survived by his wife, Wanda Wood Copeland of Dalton; daughters, Anna Manis of Long Creek, S. C. and her fiancé’, Dan Parker, Vickie Swinney and her husband, Bill Swinney of Dalton; father-in-law, Arie Wood of Dalton; sister-in-law, Kay Staten and her husband, Steed Staten of Dalton; sisters, Faye Willingham of Summerville, Ga., Audrey Croft of Trion, Ga. and Bernice Day of West Palm Beach, Fl.; brother, Alton Copeland of Madison, Ga.; grandchildren, Amanda Swinney and John Swinney both of Dalton and Drew Manis of Kennesaw, Ga.; nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 P. M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Swinney officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to
9 P. M.
