Emma Lou "Granny" Hill

Mrs. Emma Lou “Granny” Nelson Crawford Hill, 94, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.
She was the daughter of the late, Arthur and Carrie Whaley Nelson and was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Crawford and Earnest Hill; son, Harold Crawford; sisters, Dimple Keith and Willard Kinnamon; brothers, little infant, Willie Nelson, John A. Nelson and Homer Nelson, Sr.; and very special friend, Richard “Dick” Mauldin.
Emma was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, W. F. and Lois Nelson of Dalton; granddaughter, Connie and Marvin Bodiford of Saraland, AL.; grandson, Ronnie Crawford of Mobile, AL., great-granddaughter, Amber Bodiford of Saraland, AL.; special nephews, David and Debra Nelson, Ricky and Denise Nelson, Zeke Nelson, Wesley and Jennifer Hughes all of Dalton, Russell and Kelly Nelson of Fort Riley, KS.; special niece, Vickie Bearden of Dalton; great-niece and nephew, Chase and Cayla Hughes of Dalton; other nieces and nephews also survive.
The Nelson family wants to give thanks to everyone at Ridgewood Manor for the love and care they showed Mrs. Emma while she was there.
Services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Cooper officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from 11 to 2 P.M.
Flowers are to be omitted and donations can be made to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd., N.E., Atlanta, Ga. 30342.
