Mrs. Claudell “Granny” Sane Baggett, 94, of Dalton, died Friday March 18, 2011 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Caleb and Noda Bridges Sane and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanton Baggett; sons and daughter-in-law, William “Gene” Baggett and David and Cathy Baggett; sisters, Leslie, Vedie, Ruth, Maude and Thelma; brothers, Choice and Lester.
Granny was a life long member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School Class for 73 years and loved to read her Bible. Granny loved to baby sit for the community and all those children loved her and called her “Granny“. Granny loved to cook for her family and the community. She loved to work in her garden and with her flowers.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Cindy Baggett McClure, Danny (Sonya) Baggett, Clark (Nichole) Baggett all of Dalton, Cheryl (David) Aaron of New Market, AL. and Thomas (Tina) Johnston of Chatsworth; daughters-in-law, Diana Stinson Baggett of Dalton and Myra Pletcher of Dalton; special friend, Patsy Moss of Dalton; great-grandchildren, Michael McClure, Nathan Baggett, Erica Baggett, Austin Baggett, Levi Baggett, Christian Baggett, Reese Baggett, Catherine Aaron, Matthew Johnston, Cheyenne Johnston and Jennifer Lawrence; special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 3 P.M. Sunday from Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Staten the Rev. Doug Mattox and the Rev. Robert Gillean officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from 5 to 9 P.M.
