Mr. Donald Hamilton Bailey, 77, of Dalton, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late, George Dennis Bailey and Lizzie Bell Bailey and was preceded in death by his sister, Edwina Bailey and brothers, Alfred Bailey and Martin Bailey.
Donald was a member of Five Springs United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years; was a Past Master of Dalton Masonic Lodge 105; and was Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 64 for 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Walsh Bailey of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Robin Bailey of Ringgold, Mitch and Melissa Bailey of West Palm Beach, FL. and Brad Bailey of Dalton; grandchildren, Nicole and Anthony Flowers, Jeremy and Lauren Bailey, Jessalyn and Robert Labaut, Megan Bailey, Sarah Bailey and Joshua Bailey; great-grandchildren, Kyler Bailey and Olivia Labaut; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Frances Bailey, Betty and Don Phillips, Harold(Knobby) and Nancy Walsh all of Dalton, Doris Bailey of Ashville, NC.; special friends, Dr. Stephen Carson and all Donald’s friends at Powell’s Restaurant.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. George Ross officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Five Springs United Methodist Church, 2823 Five Springs Rd., Dalton, Ga. 30721.
