James Cleghorn, Sr.

Mr. James Henry Cleghorn, Sr., 93, of Dalton departed this life Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Ridgewood Manor.
Henry was born on December 12, 1917, the eldest son of the late Earl Hewitt Cleghorn and Martha Hall Cleghorn. A native of Whitfield county, he served his country in North Africa during World War II. Upon his return to Dalton, he worked in the textile industry, first at Crown Mills and later retired from E&B/Armstrong Carpet after many years as Purchasing agent.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Ollie Craig Cleghorn, and his sister, Mary Lillian Cleghorn Allen, and brother, William Troy Cleghorn.
Henry is survived by his son James Henry Cleghorn, Jr. (Jim) and daughter-in-law, Amelia Patterson Cleghorn (Melle) of Rocky Face; granddaughters, Katherine Cleghorn Warman and Jeffrey of San Antonio, Texas, and Krista Cleghorn Holtzclaw and Tad of Rocky Face, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Mallory Claire Warman, James Marshall Warman, Tad Randall Holtzclaw Jr., and Amelia Claire Holtzclaw; brothers, sisters, and spouses include Charles Elbert and Rita Tarvin Cleghorn, Newell Earl Cleghorn, Annie Mae Cleghorn Sanders and Calvin Glynn Sanders, and Marie Cleghorn Lasley along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are Wednesday, March 30th, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Dalton with Reverend Phillip Cannon and Reverend Larry Flanagan officiating.
Honorary pallbeaers will be the Scrap Iron Sunday School Class and the Senior Choir.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the First Baptist Church from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the service following.
