Bernice Todd

Mrs. Bernice Smithey Palmer Todd, 80, of Dalton, passed away Thursday March 31, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late, James and Mary Melinda Long Smithey and was preceded in death by her first husband, Harland Palmer; brothers and sisters, Frank Smithey, James Smithey, Jr., Ralph Smithey, Bill Smithey, Mildred Lord, Pearline Shaw and Edna Reeves.
Bernice was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church and loved to watch the Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by her husband, James Todd of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law Kay and Ron Ownby of Dalton; step-son James D. Todd of Gastonia, N.C.; grandson Jeff Ownby and wife Sandi of Dalton, great-grand daughter Lilli Ownby; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Jo Pierce, Jean Ault and Pat and David Stamey all of dalton; brother Marshall Smithey of Calhoun, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 8 P.M.
