Miss. Mary Lou Roberts,90 , of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Mary Lou had been an active member of the Dalton First Baptist Church since 1928. During those years she served in many positions, including Teacher of Adult Sunday School Classes, Superintendent and Trustee as well as a member of many and various committees.
She was employed for a number of years in the office of G. H. Rauchenberg Company, one of the earliest local tufting companies, and later was named Secretary and Treasure of the company. After this company was sold and moved to Columbus, GA., she was employed for a number of years by L. T. Dennard & Company as office manager.
Mary Lou was a charter member of the Pilot Club of Dalton, a club which contributed money and time in the organization of Boys Estate, in addition to many other community projects.
She is survived by her sister, Stella Boyles of Dalton.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 A.M. from the Dalton First Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Nimmons and Dr. Bill Wilson the Rev. Larry Flanagan and the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral in the church parlor.
