Mr. Amos Bentley Cochran, 87, of Dalton, departed this life Wednesday, May 16, 2007.
Born on January 18, 1920 in Crandall Georgia to the late, David Boone and Sara Luna Tarpley Cochran and was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee W. Cochran, R. Lacy Cochran, Wendell G. Cochran, Alden H. Cochran; sister, Mavis Cochran Caldwell.
Mr. Cochran was a decorated World War II veteran serving in the United States Army Signal Corps in both the European and Pacific theatres. He was a successful businessman in Dalton for many years as the owner/operator of Cochran Radio & T. V. Repair, and Cochran Lumber Company. He was also a Contractor, having built more than fifty homes in the Dalton area.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty six years, Clara Mae White Cochran of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Angela Cochran of Chattanooga, TN., Ronald L. and Nancy Cochran of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Judith A. and David Griffis of Cleveland, TN.
Four Grandchildren, Michelle Cochran-Wells of Dalton, Jeremy Griffis of Cleveland, Jason Cochran of Acworth, GA., and Aubrey Griffis Jensen of Jonesborough, TN.; two Great-Grandchildren, Jack Bentley Wells of Dalton and Asher David Jensen of Jonesborough, TN.
Two brothers, Vernon V. Cochran of Dalton, and J. Thayne Cochran of Cartersville, GA.; sister, Juanita Cochran Sealy of Jasper, Ga.
Services will be Friday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. David M. Griffis officiating.
Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 11 A. M. until the funeral hour.
