Ernest W. Ramsey

Mr. Ernest W. (E. W.) Ramsey, 75, life long resident of Dalton, departed life suddenly on Wednesday, May 4. He was born June 8, 1935, the son of the late Grady and Mamie Ramsey.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 57 years, Shirley Ramsey. Sons and daughter-in- law E. Brian Ramsey and Rose M. Ramsey of Dalton and T. Scott Ramsey of Atlanta; Sister Barbara Talley of Ft. Myers, Florida; and brother Kenny Ramsey of Dalton;
Proud grandfather to Erin Ramsey and Courtney Ramsey, both of Atlanta. Sisters and Brothers in-law; grand nieces and nephews.
E. W . worked for many years for Gregory Printing and eventually was the owner of Unituft, servicing the carpet industry with samples and printing. He retired 13 years ago to enjoy life and the fruits of many years of hard work. He was an avid boater, with he and Shirley spending many weekends enjoying friends and the water at Island Cove Marina on Lake Chickamauga. Most recently he enjoyed his motor home and spent time in Florida and the mountains of North Carolina. He also enjoyed golf and college football where his support was split between the Yellow Jackets and the Bulldogs.
Funeral services will at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from noon til the funeral hour at 2.
