Janice Patterson

Mrs. Janice Woody Patterson, 69, died Sunday May 8, 2011, at Hamilton Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was a graduate of Dalton High School, Reinhardt University and UTC where she was a Music Education major. She was a retired music teacher with the Dalton Public Schools, and a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served as pianist for over thirty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Burl Patterson; parents, Fain and Verona Woody; and brother, Gary D. Woody.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Steve Baxter; son, Derek Patterson; grandson, Daniel Baxter; sister-in-law, Kathy Woody; niece and nephew, Melanie and John Patrick; nephew and niece, Michael and Jenny Woody; great niece and nephew, Katie and Charlie Patrick.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11:00 am from Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Max Caylor officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Tuesday May 10, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the music department of Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia.
