Mrs. Katherine Hackney Sapp, 93, of Cohutta, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late Cleve and Katherine Hopkins Hackney and was preceded in death by her husband, Julian B. Sapp and a daughter, Katherine Hambrick.
Katherine was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church and taught Kindergarten there for a number of years.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Philip Bryan and Kay Sapp of Cohutta; grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Amy Sapp and Rick Parry of Clemmons N.C., Dr. Wendy Sapp and Dr. Anthony Henry of Cohutta, and Steven and Randel Hambrick of Dallas, GA.; sisters, Clarice Bond of Dalton, Edna Mae Pease of Loudon, TN. and Anne Keister of Jacksonville, FL.; 5 great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 A.M. from the Chapel of the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Cannon and the Rev. Larry Flanagan officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the First Baptist Church on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the funeral hour at 11 A.M.
