Margaret Boyd

Mrs. Margaret Cox Boyd, 88, of Dalton, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. “Red” Boyd and sister, Catheryn Cox Hall.
Margaret taught at Stephens Co. High School, Lavonia High School, Toccoa High School, Valley Point High School and retired from the Dalton Public School System. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sheila Boyd of Fair Play, SC.; daughter, Connie Boyd of Dalton; grandchild, Celia Boyd Myers and her husband Robert; great-grandchild, Kate Myers; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances and Marvin McClain, Betty McBrayer and Martha Brown all of Dalton; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 P.M. from Eastside Baptist Church with the Dr. Aaron K. Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Eastside Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 734, Dalton, Ga. 30722.
