Mrs. Clara Mae White Cochran, 88, life-long resident of Dalton, departed this life and went to be with her Lord on Tuesday morning, June 28, 2011.
Mrs. Cochran was born July 3, 1922, in Whitfield County. Along with her parents, Thomas V. White and Lillie Thompson White, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Amos B. Cochran; two brothers, John C. White, and twin brother, Clarence, “Bud”, F. White.
Mrs. Cochran was a member of Crosspointe Christian Centre (formerly Dalton Church of God) since 1953, and served as the Sunday School Secretary for over 50 years.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children: sons and daughters-in-law, David V. and Angela Cochran, of Chattanooga; Ronald L. and Nancy Cochran of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Judith A. and David Griffis, of Dalton. Also surviving are four grandchildren and spouses, Michelle and Sean Wells, Jeremy and Misty Griffis all of Dalton, Jason and Brittany Cochran of Anchorage, Alaska, Aubrey and Patrick Jensen, of Durham, North Carolina; eight great-grandchildren, Jack Wells, Eli Wells, Isabella Griffis, Eden Griffis, Anniston Cochran, Asher Jensen, Charity Jensen and Jayken Jensen.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cochran are Friday, July 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. David M. Griffis officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
