Mr. Kevin Montgomery Mullinax, 49, of Norcross, Georgia, passed away suddenly Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Dooley Mullinax.
Kevin was born in Dalton, Georgia and attended Dalton Public schools where he was a band member and stayed active with the Booster Club traveling with the band to New York, Europe and many other places. He attended Shorter College in Rome to study one of his life’s passions, “music”. Kevin was a lifetime avid reader once completing over 200 books in one year. He returned to Dalton where he worked in retail management and several other jobs that required working with the public. His love of people led him to a long career in customer service.
He was a very active member at Mt. Rachel Baptist Church where he demonstrated his compassion for others through the youth ministry, the Big Brother Program and the choir where he was a wonderful tenor.
He is survived by his mother, Clarice K. Mullinax of Dalton; brothers and their wives, Michael and Gina Mullinax of Smyrna, GA and Gregory and Heather Mullinax of Castle Rock, CO; nephews, Damon Mullinax of Wilmington, NC, Jason Mullinax of Tampa, FL, Calvin and Logan Cook of Castle Rock, CO; nieces, Lindsay Mullinax Beattie of Woodstock, GA. and Megan Mullinax Kraft of Katy, Texas.
Memorial services will be Monday at 3 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Greene officiating.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 1 to 3 P.M.
