Mrs. Maude Aileen Carter, 96, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at her residence.
She was born April 9, 1915 in Rock Springs, Georgia to the late Clarence and Leonard Parker and was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Bert Carter; granddaughter, Cynthia King and her two sisters, Ollie Holcomb and Dorothy Patrick.
In her early years, she was an employee of America Thread Mill and she was a long time member of First Assembly of God of Dalton, Georgia. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother and one of her favorite pastimes was cooking for her family.
Maude is survived by her children, Katie and Delwyn King of Hixson, TN., Loran and Patsy Carter of Dalton; grandchildren, David Duke of Wimberley, TX., Kerry Adams, Rebekah Carter and Joshua Carter; great-grandchildren, Zeb Duke, Jackson Adams, Parker Adams and Tyler Watson; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Miller officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Holcomb, Jack Holcomb, Freddy Holcomb, Mitch Holcomb, Michael Holcomb and Jim Breeden.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God, 508 Sheridan Ave., Dalton, Ga. 30721.
