Mr. Clayburn “C.W.” Rogers, Sr., also known as Poorboy, 90, of Dalton passed away Monday October 3, 2011 at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was the son of the late Wesley and Lillie Hardeman Rogers and was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Steele Rogers, and all his brothers and sisters.
C. W. was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Clay Rogers, Jr. and Kim of Malabar, FL., Carla Rogers Hooker of Dalton, Lillie and Brad Butler of Chatsworth and Amanda and Roger Smith of Dalton; grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Holly Akins, Amber and Josh O’Bryant, Hannah McTaggart, Ryan Smith, Abbie Smith, Bailey Rogers, Bethany Hooker, Cameron Rogers, Donovan Rogers and Stephanie and Steve Mulkey; great-grandchildren, Caden Walston, Bryleigh Steinbeck, Kabri O’Bryant, Kason O’Bryant and Jayden Akins; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 A. M. Saturday from West Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mike King officiating.
American Legion Post # 112 is in charge of graveside military rites.
The family will receive friends Friday at Love Funeral Home from 4 to 7 P.M.
