Katherine Bryant

Mrs. Katherine Mitchell Bryant, 92, of Dalton, passed away on October 4, 2011, at home. She was the daughter of the late Virgil Derrell and Sarah Smith Mitchell and was preceded in death by her husband, John Andrew Bryant, Jr.; son, John Andrew Bryant, III; brother, Virgil Derrell Mitchell; and sister, Sybil Jack Ferree.
Katherine is survived by her son, David Mitchell Bryant of Dalton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Anita Bryant of Houston, Texas; Wendy and Daniel Klump of Atlanta; John Andrew IV and Taylor Bryant of Atlanta; Chad and Haynes Bryant of Birmingham, Alabama; Adrian and Hollie Bryant of Dalton; ten great grandchildren; sister in law, Claudell Bailey Mitchell of Resaca; care giver Zhang Hui of Shanghai, China; nieces and nephews.
Katherine had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton since 1958. She was a member of the New Horizons Choir and the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
Memorial services will be Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Dalton with the Reverend Larry Flanagan officiating. The family will receive friends in the atrium of the church from 12 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Bryant Cemetery in Cohutta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, GA 30722-0827.
