Mr. William Lamar “Bulldog” Smith, 74, of Dalton, passed away Saturday October 29, 2011 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Hubert W. and Edith King Smith and was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ronald David Elkins.
Lamar is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Lee Green Smith of Dalton; daughters and son-in-law, Dianna Elkins and Winona “Wendy” and Donnie Hawkins all of Dalton; grandchildren, David Ross Elkins, Hannah Hawkins, B.B. Hawkins, Zaya Hawkins, Jodie Elkins and Judie Rahman; great-grandchildren, Bryson King and Sophia Rahman; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne Farlett of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Saeko Smith, Larry and Regina Smith all of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of William Lamar Smith will be Tuesday at 2 P.M. at the First Assembly of God on Sheridan Avenue with the Rev. Ted Miller, the Rev. David Knight and the Rev. Lawrence Murphy officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God, P.O. 1372, Dalton, Ga. 30722-1372.
