Mrs. Alva N. Pankey, 86, of Peachtree City, Ga. and formerly of Dalton, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 and entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her loving children and family.
She was a loving wife and mother of 9 children and a wonderful homemaker. She touched many lives with her words of wisdom and faith in God.
Mrs. Pankey was the daughter of the late Homer and Rena Williams and was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Mr. Walter F. Pankey, Jr.;sons, Phillip Pankey and Douglas Pankey; daughter, Carolyn Sue Pankey; grandson, Jimmy Dickey; sisters, Inez Harwood and Mary Ann Williams.
She is survived by her children, Fred Pankey and fiancé, Faye Hall of Duluth,Ga.
Jan Levens and Buddy of Atlanta; Rosemary Dickey and Bill of Fayetteville, Ga.;
Joe Pankey of Peachtree City, Ga.; Greg Pankey of Tyrone, Ga.; Cindy Stansbury and Gary of Battletown, Ky.; daughters-in-law, Deanna Pankey of Tennessee and Judy Pankey of Gulf Breeze, Fl.
Mrs. Pankey was blessed with 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 4 special nephews, 2 special nieces and numerous relatives and many friends.
Services will be Tuesday at 4 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Padgett, Jr. and the Rev. Kelly Runyan officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 9 P.M.
and Tuesday from 1 P.M. until the funeral service.
