William "Bill" Barker

Mr. William F. “Bill” Barker, Jr., 75, of Dalton, passed away Monday November 14, 2011 at his residence.
He was the son of the late, William F. Barker, Sr. and Esther Sampson Barker and was preceded in death by his son, Richard Barker and a sister, Betty Leonards.
Bill worked in the transportation industry for years, he then worked for Morningside Assisted Living Center, and was a true friend of all the residence. For this, Bill was named citizen of the week by the Daily Citizen on May 28, 2005.
Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Willis Barker of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Michael Barker, Sr and Kim of Canton, GA., William Frank Barker, III of Eldorado, Arkansas, Tony and Michelle Sims of Dalton; daughter, Lisa Ellis of Dallas, Texas; sister, Jean Owens of Arizona; grandchildren, Robert Michael Barker, Jr., David W. Barker, Kelly Cardova, Leslie Cardova, Cecily Sims and Ashley Sims.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday from Noon til 2 P.M. with a service at 2 P.M. in the parlor with Pastor Cecil Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Gordon County.
