Mrs. Helen McCamy Dennard, 93, of Dalton passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late, Thomas Stokley and Bernice Felker McCamy and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dennard, Sr.; brothers, Thomas McCamy and Steve McCamy; daughter-in-law, Jane R. Dennard.
Helen graduated from Dalton High School and attended Brenau University where she graduated with a bachelors degree in English.
She taught school for many years.
Helen was among the first group of ladies who created the Grey Ladies at Hamilton Medical Center.
She volunteered as a Grey Lady for more than 50 Years. She was a member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church.
Helen is survived by her sons, Robert E. (Bob) Dennard, Jr. and Thomas Dennard both of Dalton; daughter, Candy Linville of Zephyrhills, FL; sister, Berrian McCamy Crawley; grandchildren, Blake and Christie Dennard, Ali Linville, Tracy and Lin Clement, Tara and J. R. Spung and Holly Dennard-Swanner; great-grandchildren, Joshua Dudeck, Lalah Wheeler, McCamy Grace Ellis, Stone Thomas Swanner, Trip Spung, Kaitlind Clement and Leah Clement; nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Laura Pickett. Funeral services will be at 11 A. M. Monday in the Chapel of The First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the Church Monday from 10 A. M. til the funeral hour at 11 A. M.
