Martha Mae Flowers

Mrs. Martha Mae Stanley Gillespie Flowers, 77, of Dalton, departed this life Wednesday November 30, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born January 22, 1934 in Murray County, daughter of the late Dave and Frankie Ledford Stanley and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gillespie, Sr.; brothers, Lloyd Stanley and Troy Stanley; and sister, Mamie Callahan.
She was a member of the Riverbend Church of Christ and formerly worked for Shaw Sample Division.
Martha is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Terri Blackwell of Dalton, Mervyn and Judy White of Chatsworth, Robert Gillespie, Jr. and Donna of Dalton; daughter, Phyllis Blackwell of Easley, SC.; sisters, Christine Hendricks and Mattie Baynes both of Dalton and Effie Johnson of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Jeremy and Nikki Blackwell, Matthew and Jessica White, Vinnie and Tria Staley, Bethany White and Deanna White; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a special thank you to her caregiver, Peggy Hammontree and to Hamilton Hospice.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Roger McKenzie officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M.
