Mrs. Juliet “Kat” Higdon Kilgore, 76, of Summerville, SC and formerly of Chatsworth died Sunday evening at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Kilgore was preceded in death by her husband, SMSgt. Arnold Conroy Kilgore, her mother and father, and her brother, Noel Higdon. Mrs. Kilgore was born February 4, 1935 in Cisco, GA, the daughter of Aileen and Woodrow Higdon and attended Murray County High School. She was a longstanding member of Summerville Baptist Church and the Julia Yost Sunday School Class. She was an active member of the Lottie Moon Mission and dedicated many hours creating beautiful quilts for the benefit of the fund. She loved needlework, gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are four daughters: Deborah Kilgore Lindeen and her husband, Raymond of Houston, TX, Dinah Kilgore of Houston, TX, Beth Kilgore Woodall and her husband Russell of North Charleston, SC and Lori Kilgore of Pearland, TX; as well as grandsons, Matthew Alan Woodall of Summerville, SC and Alexander Ryan Kilgore of Pearland, TX; great-grandsons, Matthew Henry “Hank” Woodall and Luke Russell Woodall; and brother, Larry Frank Higdon of Rockport, TX.
Local funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Murray County with the Rev. Ed Kilgore officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope/Kilgore Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 7 P.M.
