Herman Otto Pratt, Sr.

Mr. Herman Otto Pratt, Sr., 97, of Dalton, passed away Monday afternoon, January 9, 2012 at 2 P.M. surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oveline Humble Pratt; son and daughter, Terry and Marilyn Ruth Pratt; grandchildren, Pamela Faulknor, Jandelia Faulknor and Patrick Carrell; parents, Edmund Taylor and Martha Ellen Pratt; brothers, Everett Pratt, Isom Pratt, E.T. Pratt and Benjamin “Dean” Pratt; sisters, Dora Duke, Nora Pratt and Mildred Pratt.
Herman is survived by his sister, Mary Nell Hope; son and daughter-in-law, Herman and Stella Pratt; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Billy Tankersley, Connie and Delmar Duckworth, Sonja and Ray Hall, Margie and Lemuel Faulknor, Joan M. Pratt, Sandra and Herbert Faulknor, Rose and Scott Faulknor, Sharon and Raymond Carrell and Sallie Pratt Estes; 32 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and his church family also survive.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 P.M. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Charlie T. Pratt and the Rev. Trey Starnes officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 9 P.M. and from 10 to 2 P.M. on Thursday at the church where the body will lie in state.
The family ask that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to the Church of God of the Union Assembly, P.O. Box 1323, Dalton, Ga. 30722-1323.
