Mr. Woodrow Wilson Rogers, 88, of Dalton passed away Saturday August 11, 2007 at Regency Park HCC.
He served in the China Burma India Theater with the Army during WWII as a Sargent. He worked with Candlewick Division of Dixie Yarns for 16 years and on Nov. 30, 1960 he founded Modern Fibers, Inc. He has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton for over 50 years serving as a teacher and as a Deacon. He was a Board member of the United Way and served as Chairman of the Annual Campaign in 1960. He was a member of the Recreation Committee, Member of Dalton Golf & Country Club serving as President and Board Member and a member of The Farm Golf Club.
Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Mevelyn Mines Rogers in 1981.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” & Lynn Rogers of Atlanta. Grandchildren, Wilson Rogers and Katherine Rogers both of Atlanta and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 11 A.M. from the Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Dalton with the Dr. Bill Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday at Love Funeral Home from 5 until 7 P.M.
