Mrs. Connie Hendrix Longley of Dalton, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Longley, Jr.
Mrs. Longley was a member of the Dalton First Presbyterian Church and a member of the John Calvin Sunday School class. Her activities included 1948 Woman of the Year award for her work as President of the Northwest Georgia Girl Scout Council. She was a charter member of the Dalton Junior Woman’s Club and served as its first president. Mrs. Longley was a member of the Lesche Club; Dalton Herb Society; Murray-Whitfield Historical Society; Dalton Garden Club. She was also secretary and treasurer of the First Valley Point Volunteer Fire Department in Whitfield County.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Teresa Longley of Dalton; grandchildren, April Longley and Holly Longley both of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 11 A.M. at the Dalton First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tyler Downing officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday in the Narthex of the church.
