Wilbur Newman, Sr.

Mr. Wilbur K. “Bud” Newman, Sr., 94, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret McKnight Newman in 1988; sisters, Ruth St. Clair, Betty MacDonough, and Jane Arnold.
Bud was retired from West Point Pepperell, was a Paul Harris Fellow with the Dalton Rotary Club, a member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Business Men's Sunday School Class and the Fellowship Sunday School Class, he also served in various positions with the church. Bud is survived by his daughter, Doris Newman Brooks of Jasper, Tn.; son, Wilbur K. “Buddy” Newman, Jr., of Dalton; sister, Josephine Davis of VA.; sister-in-law, Jimmie Weaver of NC.; grandchildren, Lori Davis, Ingrid McKorkle, Michael Newman; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; special friend, Marsha Whitner of Dalton.
Services will be Friday at 2 P.M. from Dalton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Joe Peabody and the Rev. Billy Beard officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. and on friday in the Atrium of the First United Methodist Church from noon til the funeral hour at 2. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dalton First United Methodist Church, P.O.
