Mr. Roy Lamar Sane, 75, of Rocky Face, Ga., passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at his residence.
He was the son of the late, Rev. Choice and Pearl Land Sane and was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Joe and Gladys Rackley; he was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served 10 years and was in the reserves for 1 year; he was a member of the Rocky Face Baptist Church and was retired from Collins and Aikman. He loved his God, his family, western music, poetry, antique cars, fishing and the lore of the west.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ruby Rackley Sane of Rocky Face; daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Eddie Craig of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; grandchildren, Hannah Barnett, Grayson Craig, Catherine Craig and Brandon Craig; sister, Faye Elder of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wesley and Neva Sane of Dalton, Robert and Nancy Sane of Burnet, Texas; nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Crider and the Rev. Erwin Crider officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with Alan Crow, Alan Elder, Jerry Elder, Bruce Hunter, Harold Donaldson, Floyd Manis, Larry Baxter and Larry Scott serving as pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Quinn Manis, Harold Nations and Wayland Reed.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to
8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Life Way Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1113, Rocky Face, Ga. 30740 or to Dalton Women’s Home Food Pantry, P.O. Box 436, Rocky Face, Ga. 30740.
