Thelma Thomas Souther

Mrs. Thelma Thomas Souther, 88, of Dalton, died Friday, September 28, 2007.
She was born in Whitfield County, daughter of the late, Sam and Lucy Thomas and was preceded in death by her husband, C. H. Souther; brothers, John Thomas and Albert Thomas.
Thelma is survived by her children, Sam and Fontaine Souther, Sally and Gary Fortenberry all of Dalton; grandchildren, Melanie and Coby Larson of Petaluma, CA. and Matt Souther of Cheyenne, WY.; great-grandchildren, Cadie Larson and Sammy Larson both of Petaluma; sister Farrell Starnes of Ellijay, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, R. S. and Margaret Thomas, Gene Thomas, Don and Emma Jean Thomas and Wanda Thomas all of Dalton; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Josephine Souther of Dalton, Anne Addis of Ringgold and Anne Souther of Macon; 18 nieces; 16 nephews; 66 great-nieces and nephews; 8 great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Sunday at 3:30 P. M. at the Grove Level Baptist Church with the Rev. David Hendrix and the Rev. Bill Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 P. M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ones’ favorite charity.
