John E. Runyan

Mr. John E. Runyan, 72, of Tunnel Hill, Passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late, Jesse and Mattie Jones Runyan and was preceded in death by his brothers, B. F. Runyan, Jess Runyan, and Floyd Runyan; sister, Helen Faw. John was a veteran of the United States Army in the Korean War and he attended Rocky Face Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy Burkett Runyan of the residence; children and their spouses, Dan and Joan Runyan of Harriman, Tn., Stephanie and Dennis Snyder of Dalton, Kristy and Danny Morton of Cleveland, Tn., Pam amd Lloyd Akins of Palm Coast, Fl.; sisters, Catherine Armstrong, Frances Bray and Barbara Bray all of Dalton; brothers, Jerry Hayes, Richard Hayes both of Dalton; grandchildren, Jamie Akins, Shannon Runyan, Jordan Jolly, Kelsey Morton and Colton Morton; great-grandchildren, Hunter Runyan and Zoë Runyan; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Monday from the Rocky Face Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Brinkley, the Rev. Van Smith and the Rev. Erwin Crider officiating. Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday from 5 to 9 P.M.
