George Lackey

Mr. George “Red” Lackey, 74, of Dalton and Savannah, Ga., died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at his residence in Savannah.
He was the son of the late, Tom and Jewell Bennett Lackey and was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Gable. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force; was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and was owner of Lackey Marine for 42 years.
Red is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Phyllis Pangle Lackey of Dalton and Savannah; daughters and son-in-law, Lynn Taylor of Dalton, Chrissie and Greg Clure of Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, John “Jay” and Linda Lackey of Dalton; grandchildren, Josh Taylor, Austin Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Jason and Melanie Lackey and Jake Lackey; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 11 A. M. at the Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brownlee and the Rev. Aaron Jones officiating.
Burial will be in the Sumach Cemetery in Murray County.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Sunday from 4 to
7 P. M.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 734, Dalton, Ga. 30722-0734.
