Thelma Awtrey

Mrs. Thelma McClurd Awtrey, 90, of Dalton, died Monday, October 8, 2007 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius S. Awtrey in 1988; her son, Billy J. Awtrey in 1996; her sisters, Jewell Wilborn and Frances Wright.
Thelma was owner of the Madonna Apparel Shop for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her grandson, Richard J. Awtrey of Roswell, GA.; granddaughter, Susan Awtrey of Dalton; daughter-in-law, Shirley Awtrey of Dalton; great-grandchildren, Scott Awtrey of Marietta, GA., Lindsey Awtrey of Columbus, GA., Matt Scheer, Mollie and Bob White all of Savannah, GA., Emily and John Hawkins of Barium Springs, N.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Charles Drew of Flowery Branch, GA., Kathy Brooks of Dacula, GA.; brother, Bob McClurd of New York City.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Dr. Billy T. Nimmons officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
