Mrs. Glenda Sharon Fowler Bartley, 61, of Dalton, joined her beloved parents in Heaven on Monday evening, July 2, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Eddie Eugene Fowler, Sr. and Winnie Bell Fowler and was preceded in death by her grandparents, Daniel and Lola Mealer and Claude and Maude Fowler.
Glenda was born in Dalton, Georgia on July 28, 1950. She attended North Whitfield High School and Crown Beauty College. Glenda was employed for many years at First National Bank and later at Shaw Industries. She grew up at the Dalton Evangelical Methodist Church where she had many close lifelong friends who loved her. In later years she attended Liberty Baptist Church. Glenda was a devoted Christian wife and mother and her greatest pleasure in life was to provide a nurturing and loving home for her husband, her daughters and later her grandchildren. She dearly loved her family, her parents, sisters and brother. She will be remembered as a kind and gentle spirit, a true friend, and a gracious, compassionate person after our Lord’s own heart. Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed by all of us who have been left behind and we rejoice in the knowledge of her happy reunion with her parents and grandparents.
Our precious Glenda leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Robert M. Bartley of Dalton; two loving daughters, Jennifer Leigh Coley and husband, Allen and Jill Bartley Hill and husband, Randy all of Dalton; mother-in-law, Pauline Bartley of Dalton; sisters, Betty Brimi and John of Knoxville, TN, JoAnne Fowler and Beth Headrick both of Dalton; one brother, Eddie E.
