Mrs. Elizabeth “Liz” Parker Hardin, 97, of Dalton died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.
She was born May 30, 1915 the only child to the late Annie Sitton Parker and Alfred “Tobe” Parker and was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Samuel “Earl” Hardin, Jr; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many close friends.
She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton and was retired from Hardwick Bank after 25 years.
Liz is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sam Hardin III and Sherri of Roswell,GA; grandchildren, Sam Hardin IV and his fiancé, Conner Jackson of Dalton, Beth Hardin and Zach Hardin of Roswell; former daughter-in-law, Judy Hardin of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Mary Helen Horne of Tunnel Hill, Betty Roberts and Nina Hardin of Atlanta; brother-in-law, Frank Hardin (Trish) of Marietta; caregivers, Linda Garrett, Pam Gunter and Frankie Love; special friends, Linda Cornelison and Phil Bailey of Dalton.
The family would like to thank her caregivers and their families, Amedisys Home Health Care, Heartline Hospice, The Dalton Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, Dr. James Blackwell and Dr. Bates Bailey for their care and concern throughout Mrs. Hardin’s illness.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Nimmons officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from noon to 2 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to The Dalton Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 922 E. Morris St, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
