Bernard Fisher

Mr. Bernard Fisher, 86, of Dalton, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was born December 13, 1925 to the late Claude and Bertie Owen Fisher and was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Fisher, Virgil Fisher, James Fisher and M.C. Fisher; sisters, Elizabeth Berrong and Janie Boswell.
Bernard was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II from 1944 to 1947. He retired from Textile Rubber after 27 years and during his retirement he loved working in his vegetable garden, fishing and watching the Atlanta Braves.
Bernard was a great father, grandfather and spouse and on August 1st he and his wife would have been married 65 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Wheat Fisher of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Donald Johnson of Dalton, Dianne and Walter Lowe, Sr. of Cohutta and Sue and David Hill of Calhoun; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Vicki Fisher of Dalton and Bradley and Karen Fisher of Rocky Face; grandchildren and spouses, Angie and Bill Byles, Craig and LaRhonda Johnson, Walter Jr. and Gina Lowe, Crystal and Joe Defalco, Mark and Kelly Hill, Dewayne and Amber Fisher, Tiffany and Chris Sun, Adam Hill and fiancé Amanda Royse, Cristin and Zach Huggins, Nicholas and fiancé Brooke Souther, Wesley Fisher and Kensley Fisher; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Williams and the Rev. Alfred Turley officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday from 5 to 9 P.M.
