Dale Rose

Mr. Dale Edward Rose, 65, of Georgetown, Tennessee and formerly of Dalton, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 from injuries sustained in boating accident.
He was the son of the late Edward and Gladys Forbes Rose and was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was drag racer having raced on the Slant 6 drag racing for many years and was the 2004 national champion. He was also a competitive shooter and finished seventh in the national bench rest shooting championship just two weeks ago. An avid outdoorsman, Dale loved to build and show hot rods as well as fishing and playing golf.
Dale was a member of the Brittsville Baptist Church and the Cohutta Masonic Lodge #64.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Myra Dobson Rose of the residence; daughter, Amanda Rose of Clearwater, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Brandy Rose and their children, Shelley, Mason and Garrett all of Hot Springs, AR; sister, Brenda Bearden of Dalton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Joan Edwards of Ringgold, Clay and Sue Holsomback of Dalton; he was the uncle to, Heather Watkins and family, Lance and Chris Edwards and family and Emily and Julie Holsomback and their family.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Purdie officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Mike Merritt, Don Williams, James Ware, Jerry Beavers, Danny Gordon and Norman Foster serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 4 to 8 P.M.
