Mrs. Sandy Dwyer McGlade, 74, of Dalton, our beloved wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has gone to meet her savior God Wednesday, September 12, 2012.
Born Sandra Ann Marwood in Jackson Mississippi, she was raised in New Orleans and graduated with a BS ED from Rhodes University in Memphis, Tennessee and a MS from the University of Tennessee. She worked as a mental health counselor and a mother of one son and four daughters. She was the main volunteer for the Dalton A.I.D.S. support group for 11 years and other charitable organizations. Also a member of Dalton’s Church on the Hill.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Dottie Marwood and was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Crysel.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Larry McGlade of Dalton; her brother and his partner, Frank Marwood, Jr. and Allen Ruyle; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill Dwyer, Jr. and Bonnie Rivera; her daughters and sons-in-law, Hayes and Allen Chandler, Anne and Shawn Holtzclaw, Ashley and Terence Lewis and Ali Caldwell; step-son, Mark McGlade; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Colleen and Corey Chisnell; grandchildren, Skylar and Tricia Caldwell, Luke Chandler, Anna Chandler, Jon-Pawl Rivera, Nathan Holtzclaw, Katie Holtzclaw, Samuel Holtzclaw and Grady Lewis; step-grandchildren, Caroline Chisnell and Conner Chisnell; and one great-granddaughter, Denali Caldwell.
Services to celebrate the life of Sandy McGlade will be Saturday at 3 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Taylor and Pastor Dewey Fleming officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from 1 to 3 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery St., Suite 3, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
