Rev. Charles Edward Bryant, 77, of Dalton passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was a veteran of the United States Army as a E-5 sergeant from 1956-1962 and was honorably discharged on September 19, 1962, 50 years to the day that he passed away. He was a member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly and was a minister for 45 years and also managed the Long John Silvers here in Dalton for 21 1/2 years.
He was the son of the late Caril and Mary Elizabeth Bryant of Oklahoma and was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Gail Newcom of Chatsworth.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ruth Bryant of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Randy Williams of West Armuchee, GA, Sherrell and Rick Schofield of Palm City, FL, Camellia and Scott Anderson, and Trecia and Don Howard all of Chatsworth, and Elizabeth and Bruce Johnson of Cohutta; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Karen Bryant, Roger Bryant and Austin Bryant all of Dalton; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at noon at The Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Charlie Pratt and the Rev. Herman Epperson officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Thursday after 4 P.M.
