Mr. Larry Carl Stone, 59, of Ringgold, GA., and formerly of Dalton, passed away Friday, December 14, 2007 in Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.
He was born in Gordon County, GA. and was preceded in death by his mother, June Radford Stone Plott, father, Carl Brown Stone and
brother, Michael Darrell Stone.
Larry was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the Army in the 500th Engineers. He was a member of Olivia Baptist Church(1954) for 35 years, the
Hill City Baptist Church and Mount Rachel Baptist Church prior to this death.
Larry worked with his father and uncle (Farnell Waldrop), in business at S & W Carpets in Franklin, Kentucky until health problems forced him to retire from work activity.
He was a member of Crown Garden and Archives for many years and was a descendant of early Whitfield County pioneers, James and Rachel Ellison Stone.
Larry is survived by his wife, Esther Hall Stone of Ringgold; children and their spouses, Jennifer L. Stone and Laurissa A. Stone both of Chattanooga, TN., Jaime L. and Anthony Starr of Rossville, Ga., Carla J. and Josh McIntyre of Ringgold, Elizabeth and Bobby Dunn of Rossville, GA., Michael and Teresa Allen of Calhoun; his former wife, Martha J. McCarver; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; aunts, uncles and cousins also survive; special friend, Jim Brown of Athens, TN.
Services will be Monday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Morgan and Pastor Derrell O’Neal officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday after 3 P.M.
