Mrs. Flora Lee Pope Gazaway, 92, of Dalton passed away Thursday October 25, 2012 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Luther and Ellen Roach Pope and was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Fredrick Gazaway; sisters, Nanny Bell Pope, Lula Crow and Meda Bledsoe; brothers, Newt Pope and Bill Pope; nephews, Richard Arbin Gazaway, J. Woody Crow, Ralph Crow, Roy Bledsoe, Jr. and niece, Louise Bledsoe McClure.
Flora Lee was known to most as “Mamaw”. She was a charter member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly for 70 years and loved her church family. She loved working in general, children, cooking for others and being outdoors. She opened her home to many throughout her life.
She is survived by her niece, Rewanda Gray and nephew, Reggie D. Gazaway both of Dalton; many other nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. from the Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Trey Starnes and the Rev. Charlie Pratt officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday after 5 P.M.
