Mr. George Carl Whiteside, 85, of Rocky Face, passed away Thursday October 25, 2012 at his residence.
He was the son of the late, Rosalee Franklin and James M. Whiteside and was preceded in death by his, In-laws, J. P. and Mamie Goss; his brothers, Thomas Whiteside, Marvin Whiteside and Harvey Whiteside; grandson Jacob Ingle; son-in-law Randy Long; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Phil Federici, Dot and J. D. Neal, Calvin and Frances Goss, Phillip Goss and Dwight Goss.
George is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Eileen Whiteside of the residence, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Beverly Whiteside of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Carleen and Clifton Ingle of Tunnel Hill, Judy and David Clark of Rocky Face and Peggy Long of Ringgold; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Doug Hammontree of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jean Whiteside of Rocky Face; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Whiteside, Ann Federici and Barbara and Bill Hall all of Dalton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roland and Dorothy Goss of Dalton; grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric Hayes, Chris Massingill, Jeff and Nikki Whiteside, Sarah and Madison Stamey, Katie Ingle, Preston Branson, Sheena and Daniel Everett, Mary Beth, Allie and Emily Long; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Goss officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with American Legion Post 112 in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.
