Mrs. Parinne “Penny” Smith Coffin, 94, of Dalton, died Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Regency Park.
A native of Hamlet, NC., she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Beulah Smith.
She graduated from North Carolina College for Women in 1932.
She married Harris Coffin in Asheboro, NC. in 1933.Her husband preceded her in death in 1988.
She moved to Dalton in 1998 and was a residence of Royal Oaks and Regency Park and was a member of the Dalton First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Coffin is survived by her children and their spouses, Alex and Sonia Coffin of Charlotte, Ann and Bill Bowen of Dalton.
Sister Thettis Hoffner of Greensboro, NC.
Four Grandchildren and their spouses, Jon and Dawn Coffin of Knoxville, Anna and Chris Hunter of Chattanooga, Macie and Wes Hackney of Cartersville, Will Bowen of Atlanta.
3 Great-Grandchildren.
A niece Jean Butler of Asheboro.
Services will be 11 A.M. Friday in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Guy D. Griffith officiating.
Burial will be in Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday in the Narthex of the Church from 10 til 11 A.M.
The family ask that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to the Asheboro Public Library, 201 Worth St, Asheboro, NC. 27203 or to Habitat for Humanity, P.O.Box 2477, Dalton, Ga. 30722.
