Mary Dean Smith

Mrs. Mary Dean Terrell Smith, 89, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007 at her residence at Royal Oaks in Dalton.
She was the daughter of the late, Earl and Mary Terrell and was preceded in death by her brother, H. E. Terrell, Jr.; step-daughter, Deborah Smith Bashaar and her husband Dick (Cap’n John) Smith.
Mary Dean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Fox of Dalton; sons and daughter-in-law, Bob and Kay McLain of Oakwood, Earl McLain of Pendergrass; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Alley Terrell of Gainesville; special niece, Sandra Terrell Hearn of Arden, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Mausoleum at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville with the Rev. Dan Terrell officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 .
